Sean O'Driscoll admits that he could bring midfielder Simon Gillett to Nottingham Forest if he continues to impress in training.

Nottingham Forest boss Sean O'Driscoll has admitted that the club are keeping a close eye on midfielder Simon Gillett.

O'Driscoll, who managed Gillett at Doncaster United, could sign the 26-year-old on a free transfer.

"He trained with us earlier this week," said O'Driscoll. "And we may get him back for the match this weekend to have another look at him."

Gillett has also trained with Barnsley during pre-season as he looks to secure a new club before the start of the season.

O'Driscoll has yet to make a decision on a number of triallists, including former Leicester City midfielder Franck Moussa.

Forest continue to prepare for the new Championship campaign with a friendly against Aston Villa on Saturday.
