Parma chief executive Pietro Leonardi has said that holding onto sought-after striker Ishak Belfodil ensured that the January transfer window was a successful one.
Belfodil was linked with a last-minute move to Juventus, but Leonardi has said that the swap deal with Fabio Quagliarella was not worth considering.
"Belfodil stays with Parma," Legaseriea.it quotes Leonardi as saying.
"Many teams were interested in Belfodil in January, but since we don't have pressure we decided to keep him, as well as Paletta, who was wanted by Hoffenheim, Amauri and others that were wanted.
"The good relationship with Juventus remains, but we absolutely wanted to stay like this. Quagliarella as a change was not negotiable."
Belfodil has scored seven goals for Parma this season.
