Porto hit four to beat Belenenses

Porto open a three-point lead at the top of the Primeira Liga table after thrashing Belenenses 4-0 at the Estadio do Dragao.

Porto have opened up a three-point lead at the top of the Primeira Liga this evening after thrashing Belenenses 4-0 at the Estadio do Dragao.

The hosts started the game brightly, as Maicon headed wide from a corner, before Vincent Aboubakar missed a couple of attempts on goal.

Yacine Brahimi came close to taking the lead for Porto before half time, as the Algerian struck the post, before Kuca hit the woodwork at the other end of the pitch.

After the break Porto took the lead, as Brahimi found Jesus Corona in a good position, and the Mexican winger struck a deflected effort past Belenenses keeper Hugo Ventura.

The hosts doubled their lead three minutes later, as Brahimi headed in from a Maxi Pereira cross for his first goal of the season.

Ruben Neves came close to a third Porto goal, as the 18-year-old fired a shot at Ventura.

Porto did add a third goal on 81 minutes, as Cristian Tello found former Southampton man Dani Osvaldo, and the Italian international produced a clinical finish.

Ivan Marcano wrapped up the victory with Porto's fourth goal before the final whistle, as the centre-back rose highest to head past Ventura from a corner.
