Striker Adam McGurk has revealed that Portsmouth's fans played a significant part in his decision to move to Fratton Park.
Despite helping Burton Albion to the League Two title last season, McGurk opted to depart the club, but he has revealed his excitement after penning a two-year deal at Pompey.
The 26-year-old told the club's official website: "What attracted me was the size of the club and the large crowds that come to watch the games. I've played against Pompey a few times and I've always been struck by how fantastic the fans have been, despite a difficult few years.
"I've also played against Paul Cook's Chesterfield sides before. I liked the way they approach the game and also how much they wanted to play for him."
McGurk scored seven goals in 41 appearances during the last campaign.
