Tony Fernandes "super proud" of Queens Park Rangers effort in Chelsea loss

Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes praises the effort of the club's players following their narrow 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes has declared himself "proud" of his side's performance against Chelsea.

The Hoops were unable to build on their victory over Aston Villa last time out as they fell to a valiant 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge in this afternoon's West London derby.

Charlie Austin found the net to cancel out Oscar's first-half strike, but Eden Hazard converted from the penalty spot 15 minutes from time to ensure that the Premier League leaders took all three points.

"I think every QPR fan should be proud of the team," Fernandes tweeted following the game. "I felt super proud of our boys and the fans were amazing."

The defeat leaves QPR in 19th place in the table, two points from safety.
