Ianis Hagi 'prefers Lazio move to Rangers stay'

Rangers loanee Ianis Hagi would reportedly prefer to join Serie A title challengers Lazio next season rather than staying at Ibrox on a permanent basis.

Rangers loanee Ianis Hagi is reportedly keen to leave the club at the end of the season in order to complete a move to Serie A high-fliers Lazio.

Steven Gerrard's side have an exclusive first option to buy the 21-year-old this summer having taken him on loan from Belgian side Genk during the January transfer window.

Hagi has made a promising start to his Rangers career with three goals and two assists in 11 outings across all competitions.

However, Italian outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi reports that the Romania international has been offered to Lazio this summer and would prefer to play in a more high-profile league next season.

Hagi's situation is likely to be further complicated by the continued shutdown of Scottish football, which is on hold until the end of April at the earliest due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The playmaker is thought to be available for around £4m, but Rangers could decide against making his loan permanent if Hagi himself does not want to stay at Ibrox.
