Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti denies that he is currently in discussions with Brazil over the national team's managerial position.

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has denied suggestions that he is currently in discussions with Brazil over the national team's vacant managerial position.

The Italian is currently in Morocco preparing his side for Saturday's Club World Cup final against Al-Hilal.

However, there has recently been widespread speculation surrounding his future at Real Madrid, and a report in ESPN Brasil claimed that Ancelotti had agreed to become Brazil's new head coach.

The 63-year-old still has another 18 months left to run on his contract at Bernabeu, and the experienced boss has said that he 'does not know anything' about the recent links with the Green and Yellows.

"Brazil national team? I don't know anything about this, I don't even know what they reported in Brazil. I'm Real Madrid coach, my contract is until June 2024," he told reporters ahead of the Club World Cup final with Al-Hilal.

Ancelotti led Real Madrid to a La Liga and Champions League double last season, but Los Blancos are currently eight points behind Barcelona at the top of the Spanish league.

Meanwhile, the capital giants suffered a 3-1 defeat to Barcelona in the final of the Spanish Super Cup in the middle of January.

There have been suggestions that Real Madrid would consider changing their head coach if they do not finish the campaign strongly, but the team are still chasing silverware in the Copa del Rey and Champions League.

Ancelotti said last year that he would likely retire once he has left Bernabeu, although the Italian also admitted that he would be open to managing a national team before the end of his coaching career.

"After this period at Real Madrid it is likely that I will retire. But if Real Madrid want me to be here for another 10 years, I'll be here for another 10 years," Ancelotti told Amazon Prime Video.

"I would like to be with my grandchildren, to be on holiday with my wife. There are so many things to do that I've had to put aside. There's a lot of places I've never been to.

"I've never been to Australia. I've never been to Rio de Janeiro. I want to go visit my sister more often. Unfortunately you can't do everything, so the day I retire, I'll have all these things to do."

Ancelotti's only previous international experience came as assistant manager at Italy, which is a position that he held between 1992 and 1995.

"Why not? I would love to (manage a national side), of course," he added.

Tite left his role as Brazil head coach following the 2022 World Cup, with the five-time winners disappointing at the competition, only reaching the quarter-finals.
