David Moyes: 'Carlos Vela close to return'

Real Sociedad boss David Moyes says that Carlos Vela could return to action against Cordoba next weekend.

Real Sociedad boss David Moyes has revealed that Carlos Vela is close to returning to full fitness.

Sociedad have been without the services of the Mexican since early February due to a knee problem.

However, Moyes has said that the former Arsenal forward could return to action against Cordoba next weekend.

"The team have shown that they can win without Carlos Vela. All the players have responded," Moyes told reporters.

"There's a chance Vela may feature against Cordoba. He's working hard, both with and without the ball, in training but he'll only return he's back at peak fitness."

Sociedad are away to Getafe in the league on Monday evening.
