San Jose Earthquakes have extended their lead at the top of the Western Conference with a five-goal demolition of 10-man Real Salt Lake at Buck Shaw Stadium.
Earthquakes were leading 1-0 - courtesy of Chris Wondolowski's early close-range header - when Kyle Beckerman was sent off for lashing out on 57 minutes.
The hosts' lead was extended six minutes later when Alan Gordon was found unmarked in the six-yard box by a pin-point Victor Bernardez cross.
Wondolowski managed to claim a hat-trick, adding to his tally with simple finishes either side of Simon Dawkins's powerful strike.
