Marco Hoger, Jefferson Farfan secure first Schalke win

Goals from Marco Hoger and Jefferson Farfan secure Schalke 04 a 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen at the Veltins-Arena.

Schalke 04 have beaten Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 to register their first win of the Bundesliga campaign.

The Miners, who drew with Hamburg on the opening day of the season before suffering defeats to Wolfsburg and Hannover, are up to 13th after their triumph at the Veltins-Arena.

Jens Keller's men took the lead on the half-hour mark, with Jefferson Farfan delivering a dangerous free kick for Marco Hoger to ram home from close range.

The Peruvian made sure of the points seven minutes from time, converting from the spot after he had been brought down by Emir Spahic inside the box.

The result sees Leverkusen lose their 100% start to the campaign.
