Scotland boss Gordon Strachan: 'Patience the key against Gibraltar'

Scotland boss Gordon Strachan warns his players not to be hasty when they take on Gibraltar.

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has urged the national team's supporters to be patient when his side takes on Gibraltar in their Euro 2016 qualifier.

Strachan acknowledged that the fans will be expecting goals against the European minnows, but warned his players not to be hasty in their approach.

"We don't want to be panicking and rush into things. We will look forward and try to play forward at every occasion, but that can't happen all the time," he told reporters.

"There are areas where we will have space to go and attack, there are areas where it might be harder. We will have to be patient to get the areas where we think we can work at being successful."

He added: "We can't be sucked into trying to score a goal with the first touch of the ball. We have done a lot of work and you might at times think we are not going anywhere, but we have to be patient and try to find the weaknesses."

Scotland currently lie in third place in Group D, level on points with Germany above them and the Republic of Ireland in fourth.
