Former striker Mark Bright has criticised Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri for raising ticket prices this season.
Earlier this summer, new owner Chansiri introduced a new pricing structure that meant fans would have to pay £52 to attend 'A*' matches.
"To be honest, it's a very disappointing situation," Bright told bwin. "Sheffield Wednesday is an amazing club with quality support and now they are being caned by the ownership.
"There have been a lot of big promises, but they are making the fans pay to fulfil them rather than investing straight into the team.
"It is not an affluent area and these people love and are committed to the club, so to charge them Premier League prices to get into a Championship game is wrong."
Chansiri defended the price hike, saying that it was necessary if he was to achieve the investment needed to get the Owls back in the Premier League.
Wednesday begin their 2015-16 Championship season with a home match against newly-promoted Bristol City tomorrow.
