Reading's Royston Drenthe joins Sheffield Wednesday on loan

Sheffield Wednesday sign Dutch winger Royston Drenthe on loan until January from fellow Championship side Reading.

Former Real Madrid midfielder Royston Drenthe has joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan from fellow Championship side Reading.

The 27-year-old Dutchman moves to Hillsborough on a half-season loan until January 2, 2015.

Drenthe is yet to play for Reading this season after making 23 appearances in the Championship last term.

He can make his debut against Bolton Wanders after the international break on September 13, but will not be eligible to face his parent club when the two sides meet at Hillsborough the week after.
