Sochaux have earned a vital three points with a 2-0 home victory against Toulouse in Ligue 1 this evening, thanks to goals from Jordan Ayew and Roy Contout.
Ayew was wasteful for Sochaux early on as he smashed an effort over the crossbar after only three minutes, despite being perfectly positioned in the centre of the Toulouse box.
The hosts' frontman made amends in the 15th minute, though, when he rose highest to convert Contout's cross into the top corner to make it 1-0 to Sochaux.
Contout turned from provider to scorer early in the second period as he was picked out by Ayew's cross, leaving the striker to head into the net from close range.
Wissam Ben Yedder sought give Toulouse a vital way back into the game in the 70th minute, but he saw his effort edge just wide of the right post, as the final score ended 2-0.
