Vicente del Bosque signs new Spain contract

Vicente del Bosque announces that he has signed a contract extension with Spain to remain manager until 2016.

Spain manager Vicente del Bosque has signed a contract extension to remain in charge of the team until 2016.

Del Bosque has been Spain boss since taking over from Luis Aragones in 2008, leading the team to success in the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championships.

The new deal will see the 62-year-old continue at the helm for the next two major tournaments, giving him a chance to become one of the most decorated coaches in football history.

"I can confirm that I have signed with the Spanish national team until 2016," Del Bosque told reporters at a press conference.

Del Bosque, who also had a successful stint in charge of Real Madrid, is the only manager to have won the Champions League, European Championships and the World Cup.
