Erik Lamela to miss the rest of Tottenham Hotspur's season?

Tottenham are reportedly worried that £30m club-record signing Erik Lamela may not be fit to feature again this season as he continues to nurse a back injury.

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly fear that injury may prevent club-record signing Erik Lamela from turning out again for them this season.

The Argentine is currently nursing a back problem that has ruled him out of action since the New Year.

He has been away in Italy during his time on the sidelines and was scheduled to return to Spurs on Friday, but the club's medical staff are concerned that Lamela is some way away from an on-field comeback.

According to the London Evening Standard, Tottenham will have a better idea of the 22-year-old winger's fitness after assessing him at their Hotspur Way training complex over the coming days.

Lamela has only started three Premier League games since arriving from Roma for £30m.
