Moussa Sissoko reveals Hugo Lloris helped him pick Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur's new signing Moussa Sissoko reveals that Hugo Lloris played a part in convincing him to move to White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur's new signing Moussa Sissoko has revealed that Hugo Lloris helped convince him to join the club on transfer deadline day.

The France international, who impressed at Euro 2016, sealed a late move to the North London club from Newcastle United last night.

Sissoko was thought to be on his way to Everton after they met Newcastle's £30m asking price.

Spurs were reported to have initially refused to pay the sum after lodging a £16m offer, but the North London outfit made a U-turn just a few hours before the deadline.

After signing a five-year deal at White Hart Lane, Sissoko explained that his international teammate Lloris played a part in his decision.

"He's a good friend for me," Sissoko told the club's official website. "When we are with the national team we speak a lot, we laugh a lot.

"He's a great player and when he spoke to me about this club he told me that it's amazing and everything is here for me to play some good games and to fight with the best teams in England.

"Today I'm happy and he's happy because we will play together in the Premier League."

In three years at Newcastle, Sissoko made 133 appearances and scored 12 goals.
