Tottenham Hotspur confirm arrival of Paul Mitchell

Tottenham Hotspur confirm the appointment of Paul Mitchell as the club's new head of recruitment and analysis.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the appointment of Paul Mitchell as the club's new head of recruitment and analysis.

It was reported earlier this month that Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino was eager to work with Mitchell again after building a strong relationship with him during his time at Southampton.

Mitchell served in a similar role for MK Dons before joining Southampton in 2012, and he was credited with playing a big role in bringing the likes of Graziano Pelle and Dusan Tadic to St Mary's Stadium in the summer.

It remains unclear how much of a say Mitchell will have in the process of acquiring players due to the presence of Franco Baldini, who was named Tottenham's director of football in June 2013.
