Tottenham Hotspur to appeal to Premier League over goal at Stoke City

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly reveal plans to contact the Premier League to request that their second goal at Stoke City is credited to Harry Kane.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly confirmed that they are lodging an appeal with the Premier League to ensure that their second goal at Stoke City last weekend is attributed to Harry Kane.

The winning strike in Spurs' 2-1 win at the bet365 Stadium was credited to Christian Eriksen, but the England international claimed that he applied the final touch and the club have backed him up, according to Sky Sports News.

Spurs have seemingly pursued the issue to help Kane stake his claim for this season's Golden Boot award.

The prolific forward is currently five strikes behind Liverpool's Mohamed Salah in the top goalscorers chart with a total of 24.

Eriksen has hinted that he is happy for his teammate to claim the goal at Stoke.
