Team News: Emmanuel Adebayor leads Tottenham Hotspur line against Newcastle United

Emmanuel Adebayor leads the line for Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League clash with Newcastle United, who hand a full debut to Ayoze Perez up front.

Emmanuel Adebayor will act as the lone striker for Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon as they welcome Newcastle United to White Hart Lane in the Premier League.

The Togo forward is preferred to Harry Kane, despite the youngster bagging a hat-trick in the 5-1 Europa League victory over Asteras Tripolis on Thursday.

Erik Lamela and Nacer Chadli will line up in the wide positions for the home side, while Jan Vertonghen comes into central defence due to Federico Fazio's suspension.

Newcastle, meanwhile, continue with in-form Frenchman Gabriel Obertan in attack. There is also a first league start for Ayoze Perez due to an injury to Papiss Cisse.

Spurs: Lloris; Dier, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Rose; Capoue, Mason; Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela; Adebayor

Newcastle: Krul; Janmaat, S.Taylor, Coloccini, Dummett; Sissoko, Anita, Colback; Obertan, Perez, Gouffran
