Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa has reportedly been offered a two-year contract by Portuguese giants Benfica.
The 32-year-old is currently a free agent after La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid mutually agreed to terminate his contract in December.
According to Goal, Benfica have made contact with Costa's representatives and are willing to pay the striker £5m in wages during a two-year period, as well as a transfer bonus worth around £2.6m.
Costa, who played for Chelsea between 2014 and 2017, has previously been linked with a return to the Premier League during the January transfer window with Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United among the clubs reportedly interested.
However, a move the England did not materialise and he has since been linked with a return to Brazil with either Palmeiras or Sao Paulo.
Costa's second spell at Atletico saw the Spain international score 19 times in 81 appearances, including two goals scored this campaign before he was released six months early from his contract.
