Saido Berahino 'too expensive for Tottenham Hotspur'

West Bromwich Albion believe Saido Berahino is too expensive for Tottenham Hotspur, according to reports.

West Bromwich Albion believe that Tottenham Hotspur cannot afford their striker Saido Berahino, according to reports.

Spurs had a reported offer of £21m turned down for the 22-year-old and according to the Daily Mail, it will take a significantly higher bid to convince West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace to sell.

The Baggies are believed to have been angered by the stucture of Mauricio Pocchetino's latest proposal and only a solid bid of £25m will see Berahino move on deadline day.

The England Under-21 international is believed to be keen on a move to White Hart Lane and manager Tony Pulis has refused to rule out a transfer happening before the window closes.

Berahino scored 14 goals in 38 Premier League appearances last season.
