Report: Daniel Levy eyes Dimitar Berbatov return

A report claims that Daniel Levy and Tim Sherwood have differing opinions regarding a potential Tottenham Hotspur return for Dimitar Berbatov.

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly identified Dimitar Berbatov as the player to boost the club's attacking options.

With Jermain Defoe soon to depart White Hart Lane for Toronto, Spurs will be left with just Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado as senior strikers.

As a result, Levy has drawn up a proposal that would see former Bulgaria international Berbatov return to Spurs from Fulham in a deal worth £1.5m, according to The Mirror.

However, the report added that Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood does not believe that his squad needs Berbatov or any other centre-forward to see them through the remainder of the campaign.

Berbatov joined Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in 2006, before being sold to Manchester United for £30m two years later.
