Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly made signing Alvaro Negredo a priority in the summer transfer window.
Pochettino is believed to be keen to add a striker to his squad before the beginning of the new season, with both Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado recently linked with moves away from the club.
According to the Daily Star, the Spurs boss has identified Manchester City forward Negredo as a candidate to spearhead his attack.
Atletico Madrid are reported to be leading the race to sign the Spaniard, who scored on 23 occasions for City in his debut season in England.
Negredo signed a four-year deal with City last July.
