Tottenham Hotspur youngster Marcus Edwards to move to Portugal?

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Marcus Edwards is reportedly on the brink of signing for a club in Portugal.

Marcus Edwards is reportedly on the brink of leaving Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent basis.

Despite once being highly-regarded behind the scenes at the North London outfit, the 20-year-old has only gone on to make one substitute outing in the League Cup.

Edwards spent a relatively productive loan spell at Dutch club Excelsior last season, contributing two goals from 19 starts and six substitute appearances.

However, according to Sky Sports News, it has not been enough for Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino to consider the Englishman for future first-team opportunities.

The report claims that Edwards is close to joining an unnamed Portuguese club before Monday's transfer deadline.
