Stoke City strike twice in the first half to see off Burnley 2-0 in the Premier League.

Stoke City have made it back-to-back Premier League wins for the second time this season with a 2-0 victory over Burnley at the bet365 Stadium.

First-half goals from Jonathan Walters and Marc Muniesa were enough to secure maximum points and move the Potters into the top half of the table.

Stoke broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when Mame Biram Diouf's cross was volleyed home by Walters, and they wasted no time consolidating their foothold in the game.

The Potters took a two-goal lead into the break as Marko Arnautovic raced down the flank and played an inviting cross into the area for Spanish defender Muniesa to bury.

Burnley created a number of chances of their own - coming closest late in the second half when Andre Gray's angled shot was kept out by Potters goalkeeper Lee Grant - but were unable to reduce the deficit.

Mark Hughes's side move up to ninth place in the table following the win, level on points with Everton directly above them, who have played one game fewer.
