Sunderland eye Fabio Borini loan deal?

Liverpool attacker Fabio Borini emerges as a reported loan target of Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio.

Sunderland are reportedly keen to sign Liverpool striker Fabio Borini on a season-long loan deal.

The Italian joined the Reds last summer from Roma, but struggled to establish himself within the starting lineup and spent a number of months on the sidelines with a foot injury.

Liverpool have added both Daniel Sturridge and Iago Aspas to their attacking options since Borini's arrival, which has lessened the 22-year-old's opportunities even further.

That has alerted Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio, who is keen to boost his attacking options, according to The People.

The report went on to claim that Di Canio was hoping that he would be granted permission to discuss the move with his fellow countryman at some stage today.
