Swansea City loan signing Jonathan de Guzman is confident that the club will thrive in midfield this season.

Swansea City midfielder Jonathan de Guzman believes that the midfield will be the Welsh club's strength this season.

The 24-year-old, who signed for the Premier League outfit on a season-long loan from Villarreal, has insisted that he has already begun to gel with his teammates.

"It's a good balance to the midfield," Wales Online quotes De Guzman as saying.

"I'm a bit more attacking and we do well as a group. We've been playing well, particularly in the first half against Blackpool where we were creating chances for the wingers and Danny Graham.

"It looked like it was working pretty well. There's still a lot to work on and hopefully we'll be ready for QPR."

The new Premier League season will be the first campaign for new boss Michael Laudrup.
