Frank Lampard has praised Swansea City boss Garry Monk for proving critics wrong by guiding the team to a top-eight position in the Premier League table.
There were suggestions that the Welsh outfit would drop into the relegation dogfight once Monk took over permanently from Michael Laudrup in the summer, and even more so when Wilfried Bony left the club in January to join Lampard at Manchester City.
However, that has been far from the case as Swansea sit just 12 points adrift of the Champions League spots.
"He's a young manager, so a few people tipped them to struggle this year, but if anything, they've kicked on again," The Express quotes Lampard as saying.
"Monk's a confident man and Wilfried Bony speaks very highly of him, respects him and likes him a lot and it's good to see him doing so well."
Swansea's final home game of the season will be against City on Sunday.
