Report: Swansea City to rehire Brendan Rodgers

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins is reportedly considering reappointing Brendan Rodgers as manager over the summer and giving Alan Curtis the interim job.

Swansea City are considering reappointing former manager Brendan Rodgers at the end of the season, according to the South Wales Evening Post.

The Welsh side have been without a permanent manager since the sacking of Garry Monk in early December, with Alan Curtis taking temporary charge of the side in the meantime.

With Curtis at the helm, the Swans have registered two losses, two draws and a win to leave them two points above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Chairman Huw Jenkins is thought to have been impressed with the side's performances under Curtis and is close to naming him interim manager until the end of the season, when Jenkins hopes to be able to tempt Rodgers back to the Liberty Stadium.

Rodgers joined Swansea in 2010, leading them to the Premier League in his first season in charge before taking the top job at Liverpool in the summer of 2012.

The Northern Irishman has been out of work since being sacked by the Reds in October, but wants to take the rest of the season off before committing to a new managerial post.

Curtis has also been considering Sevilla manager Unai Emery and Ajax's Frank de Boer, although they are also said to be unavailable until the summer.
