Cyril Thereau scored a late winner as Udinese came from behind to earn a 3-2 win in a thrilling Serie A match against Chievo this afternoon.
Valter Birsa had the first big chance of the game with a free kick from just outside the box that was heading into the top corner before Orestis Karnezis tipped the ball over the bar.
From the resulting corner the hosts threatened again as Birsa's cross was headed onto the post by Alessandro Gamberini.
Chievo soon made their early pressure count by taking the lead when Alberto Paloschi bundled the ball into the net from close range, after Birsa's effort had struck the post.
Udinese fought back and with three minutes of the first half left to play they levelled the scores when Nicolas Frey turned a low cross into his own net.
It took the visitors less than a minute of the second half to complete the turnaround as Thereau flicked Manuel Iturra's shot into the net from close range to score against his former club.
However, Chievo hit back and Roberto Inglese equalised with a fierce shot from the edge of the box that left Karnezis with no chance.
The hosts only managed to stay level for eight minutes, as Thereau was slipped into the box by Antonio Di Natale, before keeping his composure to lift an effort over the keeper and into the net to win the game for Udinese.
