Wales boss Chris Coleman has admitted that he was impressed by his side's effort against Netherlands despite their 3-2 defeat.
The Dragons went into the match without key duo Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey, but still managed to find the net twice as Joe Ledley and Emyr Huws got on the scoresheet.
However, a brace from Arjen Robben and a strike from Bas Dost was enough to guide the Netherlands to the narrow win at Cardiff City Stadium.
"It was a good exercise, they are a good team who have been criticised a lot but they are still have top-quality players," Coleman told Sky Sports News.
"We knew it would be tough and we always want to win, but we got a lot of other things out of the game. We were competitive. We used our full number of six subs and were still competitive.
"We scored two goals without Bale and Ramsey, which is a big thing when you look at who was getting the goals for us in the qualification campaign."
Wales qualified for their first major tournament since 1958 when they booked their place at Euro 2016 last month.
