West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson is pleased to see his side end their winless streak with a 3-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers at the Hawthorns.

West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson was pleased to see his side end their winless streak with a 3-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers at the Hawthorns.

A Martin Olsson own goal, combined with strikes from Marc-Antoine Fortune and Liam Ridgewell, saw the Baggies claim their their first triumph in five attempts.

"It was a very pleasing day because going into this game we knew that we were facing a Blackburn team that have got some confidence recently with their results and performances," Hodgson told Sky Sports News.

"And we knew that if we were to lose this game we would be a lot closer to the relegation zone than we want to be, especially after being so far clear not so long back.

"So it was nice to put a bad run of games to bed and put that out of the way, get a result and we had to fight very hard for it."

The win has lifted Hodgson's side up to 12th in the Premier League table.
