Scott Sinclair targeting World Cup call

Scott Sinclair is aiming to showcase his talents for West Bromwich Albion in order to win a spot in the England squad for next summer's World Cup.

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Scott Sinclair has not given up hope of winning a place in England's squad for next summer's World Cup in Brazil.

The 24-year-old currently on loan from Manchester City has drawn hope from recent call-ups given to Andros Townsend, Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez, and believes that he will be rewarded should he perform well for the Baggies.

"Every player has that chance and hope, it comes down to my performances," the England Under-21 international told the Birmingham Mail.

"If I'm performing on the field then why not? There is still time.

"It gives you hope when you see players who perform well being brought in. Andros [Townsend], [Adam] Lallana, [Jay] Rodriguez, it gives us all hope that if we perform at the weekend we might get called up."

Sinclair has returned to the first team after suffering a hamstring tear during the 2-1 win over Manchester United in September.
