West Ham beat Fulham 3-0 to secure all three points in the early kick-off at Upton Park.

West Ham United have beaten Fulham 3-0 at Upton Park, with goals from Kevin Nolan, Winston Reid and Matthew Taylor securing all three points.

The Hammers began the game as the better of the two sides, attacking straight from kick-off.

After just one minute played, the home side took the lead when Andy Carroll cushioned the ball into the path of Ricardo Vaz Te. The forward then fed Kevin Nolan, who rifled the ball past Mark Schwarzer to make it 1-0.

Fulham tried to get themselves back into the game following the setback and debutant Kieran Richardson came close on seven minutes, though his effort was saved.

Two minutes later, West Ham nearly doubled their lead when Mohamed Diame's shot rattled off the crossbar.

The second goal did eventually come on 29 minutes when Winston Reid got on the end of Matthew Taylor's corner, heading it in the back of the net to make it 2-0.

As the first half drew to a close, Taylor then grabbed a goal of his own on 41 minutes to round off a dominant 45 minute display.

In the second period Hugo Rodellega began to cause problems for Sam Allardyce's defence, though they stood firm to block his efforts on two occasions.

Carroll was replaced by Carlton Cole on 69 minutes after the former Newcastle man suffered an injury.

Fulham continued to try to find a goal to get them back into the game, but Alexander Kacaniklic's effort was well saved.

The full-time whistle blew with the score at 3-0 as West Ham got a deserved victory.
