Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Karl Henry insists that he does want to leave Molineux, despite being transfer-listed by the club.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Karl Henry has admitted that he is "gutted" to be made available for transfer by the club.

Head coach Kenny Jackett wasted little time in making his mark at Molineux by transfer-listing four of the club's senior players, including Henry, but the midfielder has insisted that he wants to fight for his place.

The 30-year-old told the Express & Star: "I signed a four-year deal last summer so I have got three years on my contract, and that tells me my future lies at Wolves.

"I have not asked for any of this, it's not my decision and I would not have asked to go on the transfer list. It's a shame that it's come to this and I'm gutted, but I've been in football long enough to know that this is what happens.

"If other clubs come in for me, I will be sad to leave but, if not, I will be delighted to fight for my place here."

The former Stoke City player has made 249 appearances for Wolves since he joined the club in 2006.
