Struggling Widnes Vikings have thrashed Salford City Reds 46-8 in the Super League this evening.
The game took a while to get going, but Widnes raced into action midway through the first half, opening the scoring through a Cameron Phelps try before Patrick Ah Van added another just four minutes later.
Ah Van went over again soon after before Rhys Hanbury completed the flurry of tries with one on the stroke of half-time.
The visitors didn't let up in the second half, with Paul McShane going over within 10 minutes of the restart. Phelps added another to his personal tally before Hanbury went over to give his side a 40-0 lead.
Salford enjoyed a mini-revival around the hour mark when Ashley Gibson and Danny Williams went over, but it was too little too late.
Danny Craven added one more try for Widnes in the final 10 minutes as they ran out comfortable winners.
