Kurtley Beale will battle against a mild hamstring strain to be considered for Australi's semi-final with New Zealand.

Australia fullback Kurtley Beale is battling a hamstring injury ahead of the Wallabies' semi-final clash with New Zealand on Sunday.

Beale left the field five minutes before the end of Australia's 11-9 quarter-final victory over South Africa with a 'mild' hamstring strain.

"It's touch and go, and Kurtley hasn't been ruled in or out and our team's medical staff is doing everything they can to get him to the starting line," an Australia team spokesman said.

Australia will make their team announcement later this week.
