Stuart Lancaster "frustrated" by Wales comeback

Stuart Lancaster admits that he is "frustrated" that England allowed Wales to fight back during their 28-25 loss in the Rugby World Cup.

Stuart Lancaster has said that he is "frustrated" by England's 28-25 loss to Wales in the Rugby World Cup.

Wales came from behind to secure the victory and England chose to kick for touch when they had the opportunity to equalise with a kick at goal.

"I'm gutted. 19-9 up and we were going well but ill discipline from us and Dan Biggar's great goal-kicking kept them in the game," Lancaster told ITV Sport. "From there they got the try and suddenly it's 28-25.

"On the field the players make the decisions. It's a big call to go for the corner. Obviously it's great if you score it, but if you don't it's a big moment. It was a huge moment in the game.

"I'm so frustrated to have allowed Wales back in the game. We've talked a lot about discipline and breakdown penalties and we gave some dumb ones away which allowed them to keep in the game."

England continue their Rugby World Cup campaign against Australia next Saturday.
