Andy Murray wins in Shanghai to move up to third in the World

British number one Andy Murray moves ahead of Roger Federer in the rankings after beating David Ferrer in the final of the Shanghai Masters.

Andy Murray captured the Shanghai Masters and with it Roger Federer's third place in the World rankings after a two-set victory over Spain's David Ferrer.

The Scotsman won 7-5 6-4 to win his fifth title of the year - and his third Asian title in as many weeks - in what was a highly impressive performance.

Murray beat World number two Rafael Nadal in Japan last week to claim that title, having won in Bangok the week before.
