Rafael Nadal is hoping to recapture the form that saw him defeat Novak Djokovic at Flushing Meadows at the same stage last year.

Rafael Nadal has claimed that he knows exactly what is required to defeat Novak Djokovic in the US Open final tonight.

The former world number one, who knocked out Britain's Andy Murray in Saturday's semi-final, is yet to taste victory against Djokovic in 2011.

Despite drawing a blank against the Serb in recent matches, Nadal has insisted that he will look to rediscover the form that saw him claim the title at Flushing Meadows ahead of Djokovic last year.

"This year I lost the last five matches against him, five finals," said French Open champion Nadal. "That's an advantage for him.

"I have my game, and I beat him in the past playing my game. The thing is to play my game very well and be strong enough mentally all the time, fight every ball, believe in the victory in every moment.

"That's something that, for moments this year, I didn't.

"But just play aggressive, try to play a similar match to last year here. I saw that match a lot of times and I know what I have to do."

Nadal has won ten Grand Slam titles in his career.
