James Beattie committed to Accrington Stanley

Accrington Stanley boss James Beattie insists that he wants to stay at the club, despite speculation linking him with Oxford United.

Accrington Stanley manager James Beattie has insisted that he wants to stay at the club, after being linked with the vacancy at Oxford United.

The U's have been without a manager since Chris Wilder left to join Northampton Town last month.

Beattie, who has reportedly emerged as a frontrunner to replace Wilder, has said that he has not been contacted about the role.

"There's been no official approach from anybody," the 35-year-old told BBC Sport.

"I've spoken to the boys - they were talking and were a bit worried that I was going somewhere, but I've explained the situation. My commitment is to them and it has been from day one."

Beattie was appointed Accrington boss in May 2013.
