Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez to miss Galatasaray trip

Arsene Wenger reveals that Alexis Sanchez will be among the players to sit out Arsenal's upcoming trip to Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Alexis Sanchez will be among the players rested for Tuesday's trip to Galatasaray in the Champions League.

The Gunners have already booked their place in the last 16 of the tournament, though they still have a chance of finishing above Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Group D table.

With the team's progress already secured, Wenger is happy to leave out the likes of Sanchez and Laurent Koscielny for tomorrow's game in Istanbul.

"Alexis will not travel and I don't think I can play, for example, Koscielny," the Frenchman told the club's official website. "He didn't play on Saturday and I don't see why I should risk him for a game where's there's not a lot at stake."

Arsenal head to Turkey on the back of a 3-2 defeat away to Stoke City in the Premier League.
