Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal defender Ben White, with the England international said to be on a two-man shortlist.

Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal defender Ben White.

White has been an influential part of the Gunners' rise to the summit of the Premier League table this season, starting 15 times in the league.

According to Calciomercato, the England defender is a target for Pep Guardiola, alongside Croatia's Josko Gvardiol.

The 25-year-old has featured 20 times for Mikel Arteta's side this season and has featured twice for his country as well.

City already possess a depth of defensive talent that includes Nathan Ake, Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte and Manuel Akanji, but White's flexibility could be an asset for the reigning league champions.

Despite being called up by England for the World Cup in Qatar, he left the squad and flew home early, with reports claiming he had a bust-up with assistant coach Steve Holland.
