David Ngog strike wins it for Bolton Wanderers

David Ngog's first-half strike gives Bolton Wanderers a 2-0 win against Bournemouth in the Championship.

Goals from David Ngog and Jermaine Beckford's were enough to give Bolton Wanderers a 2-0 win against Bournemouth in the Championship this afternoon.

The former Liverpool striker netted after 37 minutes when after he rounded Lee Camp following a cross from Lee Chung-Yong.

Late on former Everton forward Beckford's deflected shot gave the Trotters breathing space to see out the game against the Cherries.

Earlier, Camp did well to deny Alex Baptiste when the Trotters defender sent a header goalwards after 19 minutes before the blocked a shot down the other end from Tommy Elphick.

South African international Tokelo Rantie nearly put the Cherries ahead on 15 minutes but his well-struck effort was tipped away from Andy Lonergan in the Bolton goal.

Marc Pugh nearly scored his third in as many matches when he curled an effort goalwards shortly after Rantie's effort, but his strike went just over the crossbar.
