Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney extends his stay at the Hoops by signing a new six-year contract with the current Scottish champions.

Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney has signed a new six-year contract with the Scottish champions.

The 20-year-old defender has turned a number of heads in the Premier League having impressed consistently in Scotland, although any potential move to England now seems to have been scuppered with the announcement of a new deal for the defender.

Tierney's previous contract was due to expire in 2021, but the Hoops will now keep the full-back until at least 2023.

The youngster has managed to install himself as a key member of the current Celtic side and is now closing in on making 100 first-team appearances for the club.

Tierney made his Celtic debut against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park in May 2015.
