Scottish League One Roundup: Greenock Morton go top

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's Scottish League One action as Greenock Morton climb to top spot in the table with a 1-0 win over Airdrieonians.

Greenock Morton climbed up to top spot in Scottish League One after seeing off Airdrieonians 1-0 on Saturday thanks to Jamie McCluskey's first-half strike.

McCluskey tucked away a Declan McManus cross at the back post to give his side all three points in what was a feisty game that saw six yellow cards in the last 20 minutes.

Jim Duffy's side overtake Forfar Athletic, who dropped two points away to Brechin City in a dramatic 3-3 draw.

Rory McAllister scored a hattrick as Peterhead left it late to beat Ayr United, while Stenhousemuir lifted themselves out of the relegation zone by edging past Dunfermline Athletic.

Elsewhere, Stirling are firmly rooted to the bottom of the table despite battling to a 1-1 draw with Stranraer.

Results in full: Airdrieonians 0-1 Greenock Morton, Brechin City 3-3 Forfar Athletic, Ayr United 2-3 Peterhead, Stenhousemuir 1-0 Dunfermline Athletic, Stirling 1-1 Stranraer
