Pepe Mel pleased with Liverpool point

West Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel says that he is happy with his team's point in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool this afternoon.

West Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel has said that he is happy with his team's point in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool this afternoon.

Victor Anichebe capitalised on a defensive error from defender Kolo Toure to restore parity after Daniel Sturridge fired the visitors into a first-half lead.

"I am very happy for the players and fans," he told reporters at full time. "At half-time we needed to speak because we forget to press Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson as well as their centre-backs.

"In the second half it was better. The goal came after we pressed high up the pitch."

Consequently, the Baggies move one point clear of the relegation zone in the Premier League table.
