Sergio Aguero: 'Manchester City can reach Champions League final with luck'

Sergio Aguero believes that with a bit of luck Manchester City can reach the Champions League final this season.

Sergio Aguero believes that Manchester City are capable of reaching the Champions League final, as long as they have a bit of luck on their side.

The North-West outfit, who have failed to progress past the group stages in the last two European campaigns, could not muster a single victory in the competition last season.

This term, the former Premier League champions have been drawn alongside holders Bayern Munich, CSKA Moscow and Viktoria Plzen.

"The Champions League sometimes allows semi-surprises," the Manchester Evening News quotes Aguero as saying. "Dortmund were finalists last year and Roberto Di Matteo's Chelsea in 2012. They were good teams and tactically well-organised but were certainly not considered the best at the beginning.

"We have Bayern again this year, but we also play CSKA and Viktoria. Get past the first stage and, with luck, you can get to the final."

City take on Plzen in their first group-stage match on September 17.
