Wolves lineup vs. Man City: Predicted XI for Premier League clash

New attacking concern for O'Neil: How Wolves could line up against Man City

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Wolverhampton Wanderers could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester City.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Gary O'Neil has been dealt another selection blow ahead of Sunday's Premier League showdown with holders Manchester City at Molineux.

During the October international break, Hwang Hee-chan injured his ankle in South Korea's World Cup 2026 qualifying win over Jordan, although the severity of his problem has not yet been ascertained.

However, Hwang is not expected to shake off the issue in time for the weekend, where he will join Sasa Kalajdzic, Boubacar Traore, Enso Gonzalez and Yerson Mosquera - all of whom are nursing knee injuries - on the sidelines.

The one bit of bright injury news for the hosts is that Bastien Meupiyou may finally be ready for action, but the 18-year-old will certainly not be considered for a starting role on Sunday.

O'Neil could tinker with his backline either way after his side's 5-3 loss to Brentford two weekends ago, potentially bringing in Santiago Bueno for Craig Dawson or even going to a back five in a bid to quell the champions.

Should the Wolves boss stick with the former, all of Mario Lemina, Andre and Joao Gomes should retain their places in the middle, but Jean-Ricner Bellegarde is a candidate to replace Carlos Forbs.

Up top, Jorgen Strand Larsen links arms with Matheus Cunha, who could become just the third player in Premier League history to lose five straight games that he has scored in.

Wolverhampton Wanderers possible starting lineup:
Johnstone; Semedo, S. Bueno, Toti, Ait-Nouri; Bellegarde, Lemina, Andre, Gomes, Cunha; Larsen
